All images Matthias Grothues-Spork , via Catarina Jentzsch who is responsible & producer for one of the best, if not the #1 cat sailing clip I've seen. Catarina is again in charge of the media coverage for the German Nats.

Local Thilo Keller is leading after 7 races. Thilo dominated almost every event he participated last year, but he was not present at Bordeaux. Now in shape again with his own built design, the Arrow MKII he is leading the 40 A fleet at Yacht Club Berliner.

Measurers Guidelines Updates for August 2014

By Graeme Harbour -
"The Technical Committee has updated the measurers guidelines to assist measurers in their roles following feedback it received from the recent Worlds in New Zealand & Europeans in France.

Updated guidelines clarify boat length & width, the mandatory requirement of “black bands” on masts and the position of daggerboards after exiting bottom of hull. “

You can check updated guidelines at the Rules Section:

Austrian Nats @Lake Aachen for Rainer Bohrer

Report & Results sent by Rainer Bohrer. "The Austrian Nat Champs 2014 were held at lake Aachen,Austria. 8 exiting races with a 22 boat fleet, sailing within the complete wind range.
Lake Aachen is called the little lake Garda cause of the thermal winds from the North and South. Three tactical races were held in light stuff, ahother three in the mid range winds and two at the edge of the spectrum.
Overall the floating boats proved to be competitive in those different conditions."

2014 Nordic Championships @Borstahausen, Sweden: Thomas Paasch 1st

Report & pics sent by Thomas Paasch -
"The Nordic Championships where held in Borstahusen/Sweden in the first weekend of August. 15 boats from Denmark and Sweden made the fleet, including Italian sailor Alberto Farnesi, who has joined the Swedish association and entered as SWE 59.

Some sailors went for a training session the day before and lots of seaweed were seen in the race area, but luckily most of it was blown away overnight, making the area sailable for Saturday.
