Report & Results sent by Rainer Bohrer. "The Austrian Nat Champs 2014 were held at lake Aachen,Austria. 8 exiting races with a 22 boat fleet, sailing within the complete wind range.
Lake Aachen is called the little lake Garda cause of the thermal winds from the North and South. Three tactical races were held in light stuff, ahother three in the mid range winds and two at the edge of the spectrum.
Overall the floating boats proved to be competitive in those different conditions."

"The Nordic Championships where held in Borstahusen/Sweden in the first weekend of August. 15 boats from Denmark and Sweden made the fleet, including Italian sailor Alberto Farnesi, who has joined the Swedish association and entered as SWE 59.

Some sailors went for a training session the day before and lots of seaweed were seen in the race area, but luckily most of it was blown away overnight, making the area sailable for Saturday.

After Takapuna Worlds and recent Europeans at Bordeaux, various builders like Exploder, Scheurer, Askell and DNA are constantly looking for ways to achieve more control for the new foiling mode.
This mode is currently a reality in the Class and specially in major events. PJ Dwarshuis , DNA builder, put together this nice video of his own sailing sessions.

Dervio (LC): Sergio Vela wins the A Cat Italian National Regatta in Dervio on the Lake Como

A Fleet of 8 Marstrom A-Class gathered together for the 2014 Sweden Nats. Long time sailor & A-Class builder Goran Marstrom finished in 2nd place. Images and results sent by Carla Work.

Excellent event organized by Cercle Voile Bordeaux. Although some races were held in tricly 4-5knots, it was a good challenge for the foilers to see again how they perform in the lowest wind possible to start a race.
As reported in the week, Glenn just owns this Class, he sailed a Dna to the victory with new developed stepped foils by Mischa Heemskerk plus Exploder rudders.

Glenn Ashby won the European Championhips 2014 @Cercle Voile Bordeaux, Jason Waterhouse 2nd and Steve Brewin 3rd.
Sandro Caviezel ends 4th , grabbing the European Crown.
