Comments by Bailey White, US Class Pres :

- Winning boat is a Pete Melvin designed A3 of some years ago, first retrofitted with wider sterns and now retrofitted with J boards.
- This makes two championships this year that have been won by older, retrofitted boats ( Nikita and now A3)
- Rudders are custom designed by Andrew Gaynor of Team Oracle (http://live.americascup.es-web3.lbi.co.uk/en/Teams/ORACLE-TEAM-USA/Team…) and built by Hall Spars locally. Several sailors are using these.
Lars Guck on his rudders: "After NZL Worlds Andrew and I worked together on making some new rudders which he designed and I built the tooling and the blades".
- Dirk Kramers (former technical lead for Oracle) designs were also racing well. They are called the DK17.
- I heard that on one race, maybe the first race, Lars finished 11 minutes ahead of the next boat!

Ben Hall of Hall Spars was not able to compete because he has sold his boat and is getting another one."
