2019 ST. PETERSBURG NOOD REGATTA REPORT
Thirty eight A-Class sailors participated in what was probably the best St. Petersburg HELLY HANSEN-SAILING WORLD NOOD regatta we have supported since the event invited A-cats to participate. With three days of perfect Florida weather and a total of nine races with breeze ranging from 5-14 knots, it was just about the perfect regatta weekend. Bob hodges reports.
2019 NZL Nats Report
Held at Rotorua Yacht Club, Rotorua, 6th - 10th February. David Haylock reports.
12 scheduled races, 12 sailed
Rotorua is a lake in the central north island. It’s surrounded by geothermal activity which gives the whole town an interesting smell. When we visit Rotorua, we are hosted by the Davey family on their front lawn right next to the yacht club and this time was no different. This makes a great location for boat work, launching and for relaxing in their geothermal hot tub.

2018 Review of the year.
As one continent’s season closes another one opens as ever, in our Worldwide ‘A’ Class family. The AUS, NZL and ARG sailors are getting full into their seasons, whereas the USA and CAN migrate South for the winter, the European sailors all return to their caves, fortified with berries and nuts, wondering if their boats are thinking about them as much too, and awaiting the arrival of Spring when they can emerge, blinking into the sunlight again.

A reflection on the Worlds
A few weeks have now passed since we said au revoir to all the ‘A’ cat sailors who came from 3 continents, some travelling tens of thousands of kilometers to be here, and all have gone back, some to snow and ice, or freezing rain and political turmoil. Now is a good time to reflect on what actually happened on the golden sun drenched beaches of the Fraser Coast.
