Glenn Ashby still remembers his first A Class catamaran sail like it was yesterday. “It was 1995 and it was only a 10-minute sail on a lake,” he says.

The AFCCA (French A-Cat Association) and Yacht Club de Toulon have submitted a bid to host the A-Cat Championships (open & classics) in Toulon (south France), in September 2021. The French candidature has been presented during the WGM in Hervey Bay, and has received a warm support from the presidents and representatives. After reviewing the bid, the IACA Committee - as for Championships Rule §1.1 - has awarded them the organization of the Worlds 2021.

Sad loss of Corrado Sirri, ITA 

Stefano Sirri writes;  On December 1, 2018, Corrado Sirri left us. A quiet, calm day, of those that Corrado would never choose to take off. But this time the wind and the sea called it and couldn't say no. I hope he is heading towards a better world, towards what he has always loved and desired.

‘The odd thing is, it’s not usually like this here...’ How often do you hear that at a regatta from the locals eh?  After losing two more days of sailing at the ‘A’ Cat Worlds in Hervey Bay on the lovely Fraser Coast, this time due to Northerly winds making it too unsafe to launch the rescue boats ect into the ‘Texel’ style breakers.  Even though they had officially got a championship after they had sailed 6 races for the series, the race committee, acknowledging the fact many had travelled tens of thousands of miles to be there, finally managed to get in three races mor
