Preview - Open Dutch Nationals or should we say “Shadow” Europeans!?

This weekend, the eagerly awaited Dutch Nationals happens at Hellecat, the hope of Dutch cat sailing, and superstars abound. Kees Krijger reports.
Due to corona most of us must be colour blind by now, because for more than a year the whole of Europe was changing permanently between codes like yellow, orange and red. Many regattas were postponed such as the Europeans, but now we have code green, because the Open Dutch Nationals will take place from the 27th up to the 29th of August at @Hellecat, Hellevoetsluis in the Netherlands.

Light wind masters Kuba Surowiec and Marek Zebrowksi triumph in the POL Nationals

On August 20-22, saw the Polish Catamaran Championship held in Sopot 2021 was and organized by the NAVIGO Student Sports Club. Fifty catamarans were on the water. The competitors competed in several classes and championships. Nationals for the A-class, Open, and the F-18. And the Polish Cup regatta for the Hobie Cat 16, Topcat K1 and K2. During the three days of regatta, 9 races in medium and light wind were held for each class. Contrary to appearances, the low-wind conditions turned out to be very demanding for the competitors.

2022 European Championships to be at Arco Del Garda.

Circolo Vela Arco, Lake Garda, is to be the venue for the 2022 European Championships. Being held from 12th to 16th September 2022, this will be a joint co-operation between the ITA and GER Class Associations.

Due to venue restrictions, this will be a restricted event limited to 100 boats, with a split between Open and Classics fleets to be decided later.  This is a very popular venue and associations may need to allocate places based on national rankings this time

You all know the place, but here as a few views of a few experts  -

World Sailing Plaques

To maintain its World Sailing designation, World Sailing requires that all A Class Catamarans constructed after 1/1/2010 pay a fee to World Sailing and this is evidenced by affixing a World Sailing plaque to the stern of one hull in terms of class rule A.7. The hull builder, either professional or amateur is responsible for this payment and affixing of plaque. Should plaque be missing or destroyed a replacement plaque must be affixed and is available from World Sailing.
