2022 European Championships to be at Arco Del Garda.

Circolo Vela Arco, Lake Garda, is to be the venue for the 2022 European Championships. Being held from 12th to 16th September 2022, this will be a joint co-operation between the ITA and GER Class Associations.

Due to venue restrictions, this will be a restricted event limited to 100 boats, with a split between Open and Classics fleets to be decided later.  This is a very popular venue and associations may need to allocate places based on national rankings this time

You all know the place, but here as a few views of a few experts  -

World Sailing Plaques

To maintain its World Sailing designation, World Sailing requires that all A Class Catamarans constructed after 1/1/2010 pay a fee to World Sailing and this is evidenced by affixing a World Sailing plaque to the stern of one hull in terms of class rule A.7. The hull builder, either professional or amateur is responsible for this payment and affixing of plaque. Should plaque be missing or destroyed a replacement plaque must be affixed and is available from World Sailing.

New Classic Division Rules Incorporated and Guidelines Issued.

At long last, and after much work on Graeme Harbour's Measuring side, and Paul Larsen's Technical Committee side, we finally have a full set of 'A' Class rules in one official World Sailing document.  In addition, there is now a revised set of Measurers Guidelines that will now cover and record such things as foil size/position for Classic as well as Open division boats.

Rescheduled 2022 World Championships at St. Petersburg USA, website now open.

The 'A' Cat international calendar has now changed as a result of the US Association managing to reschedule their World Championships event in Florida to April 2022.  It was originally due to happen in 2020, but then postponed to Nov. 2021.  However, as COVID and travel conditions would have still probably prevented the event happening, it was also cancelled.

However, we now have the following dates for your diaries;

2-6th April 2022 for the 'Admiral's Cup', the warm up event.

Ravi Parent dominates the Open and Woody Cope fights to victory in the Classics at the St. Petersburg NOODs Regatta

First of all, a huge thank you to all who participated, making the ACAT Class the biggest of the St Pete NOODs.  Emmanuel Cerf reports.

We had perfect sailing conditions, starting with heavy winds on the first day, medium on the second and medium-light on the third. Allowing sailors to shine in their favorite conditions, and shine they did!
