A word from the new president
Dear fellow sailors,
First of all I would like to thank Stefano Sirri for the years he has worked for the class and wish he, and his family well for the future. I am sure Stefano will continue to enjoy his sailing with the rest of us.
Secondly, I would like to congratulate Mischa Heemskerk on becoming the 2012 World Champion. It is to be hoped that after Mischa’s success more sailors from the F18 class will follow him into the A class.
New IACA web site
We have created a new website and have transferred the content from the old. We hope the new site is easier to navigate, and we will work to get it filled with much more class relevant content in the future.
For the old page all the national associations had a log in, and they where responsible for adding content. That was a good idea, but unfortunately it has proven not to work, so in the new setup, we will have a webmaster who takes care of the more static content and regatta calendar and an editor who will take care of news and race reports.

Saturday we had 5 races in 10 to 15 knots of wind, and Thilo Keller of Germany was the fastest man on the race course, ending the day with a 4 point lead on he's Arrow over Thomas Pasch on a Nikita and Jørgen Skov Hansen on a DNA.

Nordic Championships
20 A-Cats from Sweden and Denmark where entered for the 2012 Nordic Championships in
Borstahusen/Sweden, but unfortunately only 15 showed up. During the 3 days from the 17th to the 19th of august, 15 races where sail in light to moderate winds, and very sunny and warm weather.
The best Swedish sailor Pontus Johnsson missed out on the first day of sailing, making it
impossible for him to reach the podium. There was a close fight for the placed
2, 3 and 4, that first got decided in the last race.

2011 Ronstan A Class Catamaran World Championship - the Aftermath
In August 2011, Sailing Aarhus hosted the World Championships for the A Cat class at the Kaløvig Sailing Center by the Bay of Aarhus. The class currently has an entry limit of 100 boats and all spots sold out well before the event. However, there were few no shows, so actually there were 96 boats on the water.
