German Nationals 2012

The beginning of September the German Championships were sailed of the coast of Scharbeutz in Northern Germany. 35 Boats from 5 different countries battled for the title.
First place was taken by Sjoerd Hoekstra from the Netherlands after winning the last 3 races on Sunday and 5 races in total.
Conditions were excellent: 3 to 5 bft wind on a choppy sea. Sjoerd used the DNA platform and his usual Brewin – Saarberg rig. Main opponent was Germany’s Bob Baier who was sailing very steady on his Nikita. Bob won the title German Champion, in compliance with the German rules. He used a new Ashby Max sail which didn’t give him the edge he had during the very windy Dutch Nationals a week earlier. Young (especially in A-class sailing) Thilo Keller finished on a well deserved third place, sailing his own-built Arrow. results :http://www.ycso.de/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=283&Itemid…
