The Club: UKS NAVIGO SAILING CLUB AND SAILING AREA
UKS NAVIGO Sailing Club is the biggest catamaran club in Poland. A-class
is most popular class. A-class sailors in Navigo: Marcin Badzio, Tymek
Bendyk, Jacek Noetzel, Jakub Kopyłowicz – Exploder constructor and
many others.
The Club is situated near the center of the town, right next to the beach.
The facilities where built in 2013 and consists of: boat area, sheds, office,
conference room for 100 people, toilets, showers, small restaurant, camp
site, playground.
Sailing area is situated in Gdansk Bay, protected from the open sea by Hel
Peninsula. There are no rocks and no shallows. The racing area is almost
unlimited. Depending on the wind direction buoys can be placed near the
famous wooden pier, especially for spectators. It is always a great
attraction for inhabitants and tourists.
Sailing conditions could be very variable and depend on the wind
direction. The waves are rather small. Water is not salty. The temperature
of the water in August is aproximetly 20 C, air temperature is aproximetly
22 C.
