2014 North Americans @Sail NC: Day 2, Racing cancelled. Bruce Mahoney leads

Press Release by Sail NC: "Racing Cancelled On Day Two of A-Class Catamaran North American Championship; Points Leader Mahoney Tests New Flying Foils In Evening Breeze

Stormy weather and highly variable wind conditions prevented many racing on the second day of the 2014 SailNC A-Class Catamaran North American Championship, but that didn’t keep regatta leader Bruce Mahoney (Houston, TX) from enjoying an early evening ‘flight session’ on a just-arrived set of daggerboard foils. “These foils use a new laminate layup to provide flexibility in specific areas, allowing the boat to more easily get up out of the water and fly,” Mahoney explained.

Attached please find a link and embed code to some 20-knot foiling with Mahoney, along with his explanation of his boat’s foiling system.

Racing tomorrow begins at 1300 EDT, with the area’s typically robust breeze forecast to return for the fleet’s final two days of racing."
