A-Cat first rides in Argentina
Although the Class is already present in South America (Brazil for some time now), we didnĀ“t had any A-Cat in Argentina, where a strong F18 has been developed since 2006. This F18 fleet is the only local Multihull racing Class and its members have put lots of hours and investment to get a renown fleet among a previously entire monohull sailing community , this work was crowned in 2013 with the confirmation of the 2016 F18 Worlds at Buenos Aires.
With that fleet firmly established a group of cat sailors have acquired 7 A-Cats, that arrived some days ago.
This weekend they went out for some testing trying to convince more people to get onboard.
Saturday had a perfect flat 6-9knots, excellent conditions for a first ride. After the session some of the rookie A-Cat sailors got pretty amped, more boats are being considered to be bought.
The Class keeps growing globally, and more sailors are enjoying sailing the As World Wide. We hope for the Argentine sailors to work towards consolidating Multis as the choice for new generations of local sailors, previously used to monohull dinghy options as their only option..
