Australian Paradox A-Cat Update
Lots of hard work and development for Dario Valenza and his Australian Paradox A-Cat. After some modifications the boat is getting the desired pace and reaching good speed.
I Hope they can get one to race at next NZ Worlds at Takapuna, they intend to participate as Darío stated in their website.
Dario's comments: "One of our Paradox V2 A Cat prototypes (the orange boat AKA 'Glenis') has taken part in several regattas in Victoria, skippered by young Tom Stuchbery.
Feedback is extremely encouraging.
Overall we are now certain that the concept works.
The boat is consistently fast, especially upwind where it can effortlessly switch between 'high' and 'low' mode to comfortably control every adversary so far encountered.
Downwind we have a less pronounced edge, but we are still learning about setup and technique to extend this advantage.
The results are gradually improving, just beginning to reflect these findings.
We have definitely come a long way in a year."
