Alex Maister wins Campione Univela Regatta

The great regatta in Campione was held to mark the end of summer on Lake Garda.  Paula Penco reports.  

27 boats from 7 countries, and all but one was a foiling boat. This is the warm-up for GER nationals the week in Arco, and it was superbly organized by the Univela club.  Sunny with a sweet wind of 12/15 kn and perfect for the ‘A’ cats to do 6 races . The race was very close for the first three races with 3 points for 3 different boats.  Alex Maister on the Kuba Exploder Ad3 showed a perfect set up especially in the downwind mode and with good speed and stable flying.  Sandro Caviezel with his Sheurer showed a great speed in the upwind foiling mode as can be seen well in the video against Paolo Penco. Paolo was always in top three. It was also a great regatta for CZE1 Vlad Ptasnik who won race 4 and the German legend Bob Baier finished 5th. It was also a good result for Sergio Vela in 9th place after his lay off of more than a year!
