Extraordinary WGM Agenda, Garda Euros 22.

Dear A-Cat Sailors - Please be informed that we will run an extraordinary WGM in Arco Del Garda. September 10th @ 19.00.

As for the Constitution, we have 3 official proposals that will be voted in Garda. They are :
1. Change of Constitution to relocate the IACA.
2. USACA's proposal to delete Rule 16 from IACA Championship Rules.
3. Poland's proposal to change Class Rules E.3 and E.4.

RSS 50.1(c) Harness implementation now pushed back to 2025

Following the Mid Year Meeting of World Sailing, the submission to delay the "M07-22 / RRS 50.1(c) – Quick Release Trapeze Harness" implementation, due to start in Jan 2023, has been postponed, upon the request of many classes including ours, and it has been accepted by World Sailing during their Mid-Year-Meeting 2022. As such, the Rule 50.1(c) now does not take effect until 1 January 2025. The ERS (Equipment Rules of Sailing) will be amended by World Sailing as well.

European Championships 2022 Measurers Appointed

Appointment Measurer Team A-Class European Championships Arco 2022

Graeme Habour (IACA Chief Measurer) is appointed as Chief Equipment Inspector and Chairman of the Technical Committee, A-Class European Championships 2022 CVA.

Yorick Klipfel (Swiss Measurer, Chief Measurer Nacra 15 Worlds, etc) will join the Measurement Team.

We are very pleased to appoint such a strong Technical Team. Many Thanks also to IACA, SACA and CVA for the support.

The Worlds in reflection.

It has now been two weeks or so since the end of the Texas Worlds. Time to reflect on what was a really successful event. Pulled together in less than 6 months by US Class President, Bob Webbon, Bruce Mahoney and a few others, together with a hugely experience race management team under the exquisite control of Debbie Cardenas and her Houston Yacht Club team. We were lucky too to get the PRO from the last time the Worlds were in the US back in 2012, the venerable Texan, Billy Richnow, and being kept in check by his highly qualified race committee.

So, what have we learned?
